My Process of Integration at 80
Turning 80 is no small thing. According to Wilbert Alix’s map of the 12 Mystical Stages of Spiritual & Physical Evolution, I now walk in the stage he calls Spiritual Elderhood. Elderhood is not retirement from life, but rather a deepening into transmission — distilling lived experience into essence.
In these past weeks, synchronicities have gathered around me like guiding stars.
Jeshua’s Reminder
In a recent channelling through Pamela Kribbe, Jeshua was asked: “If this is my last lifetime on Earth, how do I know?”
His answer was simple and liberating:
- Whether this life is our last is ultimately our own choice.
- Growth across lifetimes is the process of refining raw emotions into balanced wisdom.
- Spirit beings stand ready to guide us at death, but never impose. The soul knows when it is complete.
Aaron’s Message
Then I came across a transmission from Aaron, addressed to a woman of 90 at the threshold of death. His words touched me deeply:
- He invited her to thank the body — feet, hands, back, heart — for its faithful service.
- He reminded her that even after leaving the body, healing and forgiveness continue, but in the lightness of spirit.
- He described the soul’s rest in a realm of beauty, attended by guides and Masters, before contemplating whether to return to Earth.
Reading this, I could almost feel myself rehearsing my own farewell: “Thank you, feet. Thank you, heart. Thank you, body.”
My Own Reflection
So where does that leave me, standing here at 80?
This morning I said to myself: I would like to return. Not from fear of death, but from love — love for my grandchildren, a wish to watch them as adults, and a curiosity about what another lifetime might weave from the wisdom gathered in this one.
And here I touch the ancient vow of the Bodhisattva — those souls who, even when they could dissolve fully into the Light, choose to return in service. Perhaps this impulse is stirring in me now. Quan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, is one of Them. And she is one of my mentor.
From Light Workers to Light Raisers
In the circles I facilitate, participants often call themselves Light Workers. Today I encountered a new phrase: Light Raisers. I love it. To “work” with the light is beautiful, but to “raise” the light feels like lifting it together, higher, for future generations. That feels close to my heart at 80.
A Gentle Elderhood Declaration
So I offer this declaration for myself — and perhaps it may speak to you too:
I stand in Spiritual Elderhood, grateful for the refinement of many lifetimes.
I honor this body and the wisdom it has carried.
When the time comes to release it, I will rest in love and light.
Whether I continue beyond or return again, I choose to serve.
For my grandchildren, for all children, for Earth, I vow to raise the Light.
🌸 This is the integration I am living now: Jeshua’s freedom, Aaron’s tenderness, Elderhood’s transmission, and the Bodhisattva’s choice. Not as abstract teaching, but as a lived question: How do I serve, here and beyond?
