TO CHANGE ONESELF or ANOTHER? A Grandmother's Reflection

When Declarations Meet the Soul’s Path

After publishing A Listening Grandmother, I’ve returned again and again to a question that Chapter 38 raised for me:

When I declare a new reality through TAG Healing, am I aligning with my soul — or trying to bend my soul to my will?

It’s a question that reaches into the heart of spiritual practice. Sharon Riegie Maynard’s TAG work invites us to speak clear declarations — not vague hopes, but chosen realities. And yet, what if the soul has chosen another path?

Here’s what the Field has whispered to me today. And yet it comes only as a reminder!

🌿 A declaration is not a demand. It is an invitation. A way of saying: I stand ready for this experience, if it is in harmony with my soul’s deeper design.

🌿 The Field honors sovereignty. No declaration can override the freedom of a soul. What it can do is clarify readiness, dissolve distortions, and open pathways that already exist in potential.

🌿 Healing is not only about form. Sometimes knees grow stronger. Sometimes hearts grow softer. Sometimes the gift is not “cure” but “clarity.” Either way, the declaration has served.

In Chapter 48, I wrote of faultlines — those hidden cracks in families, nations, and even the Earth itself. Faultlines appear when truth is denied or love withheld, and they echo across generations. What heals a faultline is not force, but presence. The willingness to witness, to speak, to create a field where love can return.

In Chapter 54, I shared the TAG process I use for family and global faultlines. These steps are precise, powerful, and multidimensional — but they are never about controlling another soul. They are about holding resonance. I anchor a chosen reality, and then I release it to the wisdom of the soul and Source.

This is the balance I continue to walk:

  • I am powerful. My words shape energy.

  • I am humble. My soul, and the souls of others, may choose differently than I expect.

And so my prayer now is simple:

“Let this or something wiser unfold. If not in the way I imagine, then in the way my soul knows I need.”

This is not a retreat from responsibility. It is a deeper responsibility: to speak with love, to hold space without control, and to trust the timing of each soul’s unfolding.

Perhaps this is the essence of grandmother energy: not fixing, not forcing — but declaring with clarity, and then listening with reverence.
